Obituary
Lewis W. George, 83, Merrimack passed away Monday evening (Oct. 25, 1971)
in the Maple Wood Nursing Home in Sauk City where he had made his home
for the past five months.
He had been employed by the North West Railroad as a section foreman for
forty years up until his retirement.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Walter Meisel (Florence) and Mrs.
William Lehaman (Cora) both of Merrimack; Mrs. Lena Kemp, Reedsport,
Oregon; one son Charles, Mesa, Ariz; 4 grand-children: 3
great-grand-children and one step son, Thomas Haney, Berwyn, Ill. He was
proceeded in death by his wife, Mattie, in 1935, and one son.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the
Methodist Church in Merrimack with Mrs. William Roth officiating.
Friends may call at the Redlin - Scheible Funeral Home Wednesday evening
from 7 to 9 and at the church on Thursday from 12:30 until time of
Services.
Burial will be made in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Merrimack

Merrimac Woman Dies Suddenly
Mrs Lewis George, 39, died suddenly yesterday afternoon
at her home in Marrimac.
The deceased had eaten dinner with her family and then retired
to her room where she was later found dead. Deputy coroner
Adolph Andro of Baraboo was called to investigate and determined that no
inquest would be necessary. Death was
attributed to a heart attack.
Survivors of Mrs. Geroge are her husband and a family of five children
including a week-old son.
Funeral services are to be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and
2 o'clock at the Methodist church in Merrimac,
Rev L. Litchfield officating. Interment will be in the Merrimack cemetery.
